Waratah-Wynyard Council update

Plans are underway for the annual Try Skills Program to be run through the next school holidays. The program allows students from grade 5-7 to try different sports/activities they might otherwise have not considered. All schools within our municipality will shortly receive information on the program. We are excited to see our familiar clubs be involved once again as well as some new activities such as fishing. More information and the finalisation of the program to come.

The Tulip Festival program for 2024 has been finalised and gone to the printer.  Look out for advanced copies being distributed throughout the community in August.

The program has grown with well over 100 different activities on offer for the month of October this year.  This will be one to share with your friends and relatives from all around the state to get them to come to Wynyard this October!

Exciting new offerings coming this year include a Teddy Bear’s Picnic at the Frederick Street Reserve, Build Your Own Cardboard Superheroes with Greenstem Education and Intergenerational Music, Movement and Mindfulness sessions.

We have every price point covered with many activities available for free or at a low cost.  You can also treat yourself or a loved one to an indulgent experience that you will likely remember for years to come!

Hannah Maloney is the Field Ambassador for the Festival, see https://www.warwyn.tas.gov.au/tulip-festival/ for more about Hannah.
