Events during October
We are looking forward to the Spring Loaded Festival the Tulip Festival, and hopefully some less windy and rainy weather! We have our two Open Days coming up, the first at our Community Centre on the 8th of October, and the second at our Community Farm on the 26th of October.
We had another great film night on Saturday, the film was ‘Winter on the Blade’, about a daunting climb of Federation Peak during one of the wettest winters ever in Tasmania. We were very lucky to have Richard Donaghey give a talk after the film of his experience climbing Federation Peak in the 1960’s, as he said on those days the lightweight specialist hiking and climbing gear was not available, making it even more challenging. Once again we had a delicious dinner and dessert cooked by Emma and her family!
There is a Community Exchange Network Trading (CENTs) event coming up on the 19th October at the RESEED Centre in Penguin, this is a great chance to find out how you can trade goods and services without using money, and meet interesting people at the same time!
