Intergenerational Digital Storytelling workshop
During the July school holidays LWT hosted some amazing and creative youth, their parents and grandparents for our Intergenerational Digital Storytelling Workshop. It was a fun-filled two days full of creative ideas, artistic ability, story development and cinematic screenings (not to mention the food!). From spies and fries dressed as hamburgers to cats and life histories, the storylines covered a wide range of the imagination. Samara McIlory, shared her passion for digital storytelling with the group, and as many had arrived prepared, by the end of the 1st day many participants had a majority of their digital pictures and animations completed. This meant that on the 2nd day of the workshop all participants had the opportunity to record their stories, in their own voices: what a great opportunity!
Samara then walked everyone through the process of overlaying the voice recordings to their digital pictures, fine tuning the timing and teaching everyone some digital editing skills. We finished the workshop off with a cinematic screening of everyone’s (almost) finished productions. What an inspiring two days watching all generations create, connect, share skills and have fun together! Samara and all the participants continue to work on their final editing before we will be exhibiting them during the LWT open day on Tuesday October 8th, as apart of the Spring Loaded Festival.
