It’s that time of year for those meetings we all love (not!): AGM’s! We are going to try and make the official part of our upcoming AGM on the 9th of September quick and painless, and then have some fun! Yummy afternoon tea included. Everyone welcome!

And don’t forget our monster raffle! Watch out for our stall where you can buy tickets outside Wynyard Woollies fortnightly on Fridays and monthly on Mondays.

Another fun event will be our Mental Wellbeing For All session on the 7th of October, to highlight our Grow mental wellbeing group, and to ‘Sock it to stigma’. This aims to raise awareness and promote open conversations around mental well-being. Prizes will be awarded for the Brightest Mismatch, Most Colourful Socks, Wackiest Combo, Best DIY Sock Creation, Funniest Theme, Most Sustainable (upcycled or repaired socks), and Sock Superstar (random participation prize). Sock it to stigma highlights that everyone can have a bad day, a bad week or a bad year! We also encourage participants to build an outfit around their odd socks, such as wear every colour you can find, rainbow explosion, crazy patterns (stripes, polka dots, checks), sports fan, superhero, pyjama party, decades (70s, 80s, 90s). Again, everyone is welcome!

Long Table Lunch

We invite the community of Waratah-Wynyard to join us for a Long Table Feast to celebrate our 10 year Anniversary supporting and collaborating with the local Community. Guests will feast on a 3 course meal, full of locally sourced produce and local recipes. We want to inspire guests to live, eat and volunteer local as LWT has done for the last 10 years. There will be a silent auction to help raise funds for new facilities at our Oldina Community Farm location. More details to come soon!

Also in this newsletter we have the first of a number of interviews with candidates standing for the position of Major in the October Waratah-Wynyard Council elections. Councils are so important being the closest to the people where decision making occurs – we all should take an interest to ensure the best decisions are made to support community wellbeing!
