Wynyard’s Live Well organisation has landed a grant just shy of $10,000 for a new project aimed at strengthening self confidence and social connections.

Australia Post announced it had awarded $9764 to the group in its 2020 community grants program, the largest grant to a Tasmanian project.

Live Well coordinator Robin Krabbe said they were very excited to get the grant for ‘Engaging our Community’, which was timely.

“It’s focussed on mental health and COVID is highlighting those issues.

“It’s a good time to be launching something that addresses mental well being.”

Mrs Krabbe said the program would run for eight months at the Live Well premises in Saunders Street, probably starting in January next year.

They would run as a series of workshops that included activities such as yoga and goal setting, aimed at raising self confidence.
