Try Skills
All forms have been dispersed throughout the 7 local schools. Students in Grades 5-7 are encouraged to get involved. If families out there have not received a form and want to know more, they can contact Stephanie Hanson [email protected]. This year we are excited to have 15 different activities on offer. It’s great to see community groups make themselves available. Forms are due back Tuesday 9th September and activities begin Monday 29th September.
Have Your Say – Future Neighbourhood Plans for Somerset & Wynyard

As part of the Liveable Waratah-Wynyard Settlement Strategy – our long-term plan for managing growth – we’ve drafted Outline Development Plans for two key areas:
• River Road, Wynyard
• Malakoff Street, Somerset
An Outline Development Plan is a big-picture guide that shows how an area could be developed in the future — where streets, parks and paths might go, and how to protect local character and the environment. It doesn’t rezone land or approve works, but it sets clear expectations for any future development.
After consulting with current landholders, we are now inviting the broader community to have their say.
Consultation open: 14 August – 4 September 2025
Read the plans & share your feedback: https://www.warwyn.tas.gov.au/projects/draft-outline-development-plan-somerset-wynyard/
Your input will help shape how these neighbourhoods could look and feel in the years ahead.
